Career Ready Award
What this means for employers?
For employers, the Career Ready Award provides trusted, institution-backed evidence that a graduate has proactively developed their professional capabilities beyond their academic coursework. Badge holders have demonstrated commitment, initiative, and sustained engagement in career development activities.
The award signals that a candidate has built core employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional self-awareness, and has reflected on their learning in real-world contexts. Employers can recruit with confidence, knowing these graduates are prepared to transition effectively into the workplace and contribute from day one.

What is the Career Ready Award?
The Career Ready Award (CRA) is RMIT’s structured, tiered badging program designed to help students build career confidence, professional skills, and real-world experience alongside their academic studies.
The award provides a clear roadmap to becoming work ready. Through career events, experiential learning, reflection, and real workplace exposure, students graduate with more than a qualification: they graduate with evidence of their skills, experience, and professional growth.
Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students across disciplines and campuses, the award recognises both structured learning and practical experience.
The full award represents approximately 100 hours of career development engagement, completed flexibly over the duration of a student's degree.

Career Ready Award Tier Structure
The Career Ready Award consists of three progressive tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each tier builds on the previous one, increasing in depth, independence, and workplace application. The three badges are stackable, meaning students progressively earn and build upon each level as they advance through the program toward full Career Ready Award completion.
