About ADC Hackathon 2026

The RMIT Accessibility Design Competition (ADC) is an annual competition that inspires innovative solutions for more inclusive workplaces. By fostering creativity, empathy, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, ADC empowers the next generation to tackle real-world accessibility challenges and drive meaningful change.
Over the past five years, the competition has brought together students, industry mentors, community partners, and accessibility advocates to champion inclusion and accessibility.
In 2026, ADC returns in a new 3-day hackathon format where participants work in teams to understand real challenges, develop inclusive solutions, test ideas, and pitch to judges. Through the AI & Employability theme, participants will explore AI-powered solutions for inclusive workplaces.
This year's ADC Hackathon focuses on driving accessibility and inclusion by empowering teams to develop solutions for four key disability categories:
  • Visual Impairment
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Mobility Impairment
  • Neurodivergence
